EnSo strengthens partnerships and expands innovation in Kenya

The EnSo Impact UK team have just returned from an insightful trip to Kenya, connecting with the local EnSo Ventures project team and key partners. Together, we continued our collaboration to advance clean energy, sustainable agriculture and cooling innovation.

Building Stronger Local Partnerships – We spent valuable time with the Kenya EnSo team in Nairobi, deepening relationships and refining our shared vision. Huge thanks are due to our colleagues Grace Gitonga, Collins Mwenda and Ronald Osoro. All your hard work and input is appreciated.

Collaborating for Greater Impact – Engaged with key partners, including iDE and Social Finance. Together, we explored innovative finance options and expanding our reach in sustainable solutions.

Advancing Science & Research – Connected with KEMRI (Kenya Medical Research Institute), to reinforce data-driven approaches in our projects. Insights from their work will help shape future innovations.

Scaling Sustainable Cooling & Solar Drying – Visited a STEM-focused secondary school in Mombasa. Engaged with farmers using entry-level crop dryers in Gazi Bay. Met with a rural Cassava farmer in Kaloleni. These interactions provided real-world insights into how EnSo’s technologies can boost productivity, reduce post-harvest losses, and improve living conditions.

Engaging with Large-Scale Agricultural Producers – Held productive discussions with major agribusinesses interested in integrating our solar drying technology. These conversations mark a significant step toward wider adoption and the value of our ongoing product development.

Chris Moss, Marketing and Business Development Coordinator for EnSo in the UK, highlighted how “As a business, we are committed to fostering partnerships and innovation that drive sustainable impact. So it was great to reconnect with our sister company in Nairobi, engage with key local partners, and explore future opportunities with our customers. For my first visit to Kenya, I was incredibly inspired by the energy, talent, and creativity we encountered.”
